Ever wonder what Gangnam Style means? Or Numa Numa? Or Geddan? or the Macarena? Or Soulja Boy’s Crank Dat?

This is beautiful.

What John said.

That awesome moment when you’re a Nerdfighter!

I don’t know why I am so excited about this, but I am!  Without any further adieu, I shall fill out my Nerdfighter GIF challenge so that a least one person does it.  >.<  (Also, I like to comment on every little thing, so if comments detract from the experience for you, just gloss over the parenthetical stuff after this set of parenthetical stuff.)

GIF 1 is your reaction when someone first told you about the Vlogbrothers:

(Fun Fact: A friend told me about the Vlogbrothers, but it took me a little while to get into, but when I did, they had me hook, line, and sinker.)

GIF 2 is your reaction after watching your first Vlogbrothers video:

(Seems like a bit of an overreaction.)

GIF 3 is your first impression of Hank Green:

(Haha, sorry Hank, but I definitely liked John more in the beginning, but then I realized we were both science nerds and then I liked you equally).

GIF 5 is your first impression of John Green:

(I can’t say that I’ve actually noticed.  But I do love Ice Age!)

GIF 7 is how you feel about Hank Green now:

(He makes me laugh.  =D)

GIF 11 is how you feel about John Green now:

(I can handle your heart-wrenching stories!)

GIF 13 is your reaction whenever you see that VB has posted a new video:

(Because we all know Castiel anxiously awaits every new upload like the rest of us.)

GIF 17 is your reaction every time John & Hank make a reunion video:

(Speaks for itself.)

GIF 19 is your reaction/feelings while watching the 1000th video:

(In reference to myself, very accurate.  I watched that video and I was like, what have I done with my life????  I wish I could make the same kind of impact, and so on.)

GIF 23 is how you feel whenever you decrease world suck by helping others:

(It’s such a heartwarming feeling.)

GIF 29 is your feelings for Hank Green’s nerdtastic songs:

(I just can’t.)

GIF 31 is your feelings for John Green’s [insert word because I am incapable of finding one that doesn’t involve me keymashing] books:

(Don’t worry John, Sherlock is mean to everyone.)

GIF 37 is your emotional state after reading The Fault in Our Stars:

(I can guarantee you I was crying and not trying to woo people with smoldering looks.)

GIF 41 is your reaction every time Hank dies while playing Mario on HankGames:

(He just tries so hard!  I think he deserves a hug.)

GIF 43 is your reaction when Henry appears in a video:

(So true. His adorableness just ruins my ability to even).

GIF 47 is your reaction when you meet/met John and Hank Green in person:

(It would be fantastic if that ever happened.)

GIF 53 is your reaction when you meet other Nerdfighters:

(I would be that awkward.  -.-  There’s just so much love to share!)

GIF 59 is your reaction every time you buy/make Nerdfighter paraphernalia:

(I literally die from all the happy feels).

GIF 61 is your happy dance:

(Excuse me while I awkwardly show off my moves.  I have never been a particularly good dancer.  XD)

GIF 67 is your reaction every time John Green answers a question about one of his books with ‘the book belongs to the reader’:

(No, don’t do this to us John!  D=)

Well, that was fun.  I guess I will go study for my German test.  DFTBA!

MetaphoricalFish’s Nerdfighter GIF Challenge

I have a German test tomorrow, but I decided to waste my time instead (much to Poster Pizza John’s consternation).  I really enjoy GIF challenges and a brief scan using Tumblr tags confirmed my belief that no Nerdfighter GIF challenge exists, which is quite tragic if you think about it.  (Actually, it isn’t that tragic because there are better ways to waste your time on Tumblr; but hey, they’re good for a quick laugh.)  So this post is my attempt to make a Nerdfighter GIF challenge!  And it can be my ‘gift’ to Nerdfighteria for the 1000th Vlogbrothers video.  =D

I know I didn’t cover everything and I am sorry, but good GIF challenges can’t be too short or too long; they have to be just right (not unlike Goldilocks’s plight when she broke into the home of the three bears).  Don’t be mad!  T-T  Anyway, feel free to fill out for yourself.  I plan doing this for my next post!  =D  Now I must go tag the crap out of this post.

(P.S. Does anyone see a pattern?  =3)

That awkward moment when I have writer’s block.

I say moment, but it has really been several months worth of writer’s block.  And now, it’s getting to the point where apathy on top of writer’s block is preventing me from from writing.  Why do I do this to myself?!?!

So, it’s been awhile since I have written a text post and since I am feeling a little goofy, I thought, “What the hell? Let’s give my 11 followers something really pointless to read because I can.”

My summer was rather uneventful and since school has started again, I have basically been doing nothing but homework.  However, the other day, I got a package!

My apartment complex is really goofy about receiving packages.  For whatever reason, the office collects them for the residents, but they don’t inform you when your package has come in.  This sincerely makes me wonder what the office does when a resident fails to pick up their stuff… (I imagine that they are slowly building a collection of uncollected packages.)  I guess we are just supposed to be responsible and frequently check for expected, incoming packages.  Responsibility…

Anyway, I digress.  So, I got a package.  Guess what it was?  If you said a Pizza John poster, then you win a $1,000,000,000.  (Except not because I do not have a billion dollars.  Plus, I would probably use it to buy more books and more Nerdfighter paraphernalia instead because I am a ‘responsible’ spender.) Look at it!

And if we look a little closer, we shall see my favorite part (and just to be clear, I am referring to the signature and not his lips, because that would be weird and creepy; although, the fact that the signature is in the center of the picture should be a pretty good indicator…)!

Excuse me while I freak out a little!

Like the true slightly-OCD person that I am, I decided to hang it next to the only other red thing in my room because it clashed with my pink curtains.  After agonizing over whether or not it was centered and relatively not-crooked, I was satisfied.  It wasn’t until later when I realized the slightly unfortunate placement.  The poster is right above my television:

I was watching Friends and I didn’t want to turn off the TV when I took the picture.  >.<  So now, I keep getting distracted by the Pizza John poster because I feel like the eyes are intensely staring at me and judging me for procrastinating so much on my homework.

Don’t judge me Pizza John poster!  T-T  Well, that’s my pointless story for the day, so I love you and DFTBA!  (Proofreading this should be interesting.)  Until next time!

That annoying moment when you try to clean and you only make a bigger mess.

I finally got around to unpacking my stuff from college and summer college (I know, major procrastinator); plus, I also decided to clean my room.  So I started this cleaning project around 7-ish and it’s 3 o’clock and I am still cleaning.  Mostly because I don’t have a bed to sleep on now.

(I love this GIF, btw, and since I make stupid little mistakes all the time, be prepared to see it. A lot.)

Anyway, I am reorganizing my bookshelves right now because I have books piled all over my floor.  Pictorial proof:

Reorganizing my book shelves is easier said than done, though.  I am weird and like all my books to be in alphabetical order by author’s last name.  This means new books have to be added one letter at a time. As you can see, I am only on D:

(My newly purchased Sherlock Holmes books are on the end!  =D) And as I already stated, it’s after 3 in the morning:

(Can you tell I love reaction GIFs?)

I am also keeping a catalog of all my books on my computer which sincerely slows down the process. (I have a catalog because not only am I weird, I am weirdly paranoid.  In case my books decide to catch fire spontaneously or something, I can just grab my laptop and go and hopefully the insurance company will be kind enough to reimburse me.  Of course, I may just be really naive and lack a true understanding of how insurance works in cases of a house fire…)

My list includes stuff like Title, Author, Second Author, Publisher, ISBN #, Price, if I have finished reading the book, and how I am categorizing the book (because I know everyone wants to know this).

Anyway, I keep having to add information to my catalog, so this is going to take awhile.  Well, I better get off tumblr for now and try to finish up this crazy project.

On the bright side, I will know how many books I own after all this is said and done.  (Anyone want to guess how many?  You could win a hug, or something!) I love being a nerd.  =D  And just for funnsies, have another Benedict Cumberbatch GIF (because I have been unintentionally building a collection of BC gifs - it’s like I am an unintentional creeper.  Is that possible?  Okay, rambling. This is how I am at 3 in the morning - incoherent).  Good night all you lovely people!

As per the request of Theresa, I explain my story idea (while secretly hoping that since I have so few views, no one will steal my idea). And as promised, here is the link to the vlogbrothers video that sparked my idea:

Hoo ha, Nerdfighters!

That awkward moment when your university library fails at life…

So, in prepartion for Note Day on May 6th, I was checking my university’s online catalogue for John Green books. From the searches, I found out that my library most likely does not have any books by John Green. Why does my school fail at life?!?

I plan on going to personally check later today (because there is a chance that I don’t know how to use online library search).   I know notes do not have to be specifically in those books, but I figured it was a good starting point and that may not even be a possibility now. If the library, in fact, does not have any John Green books, what do my fellow nerdfighters suggest?

Tag!

So, I was tagged the other day and I decided to take this opportunity to write a post since it has been so long.  Anyway, I was tagged and so I must share 10 things about myself.  The other stipulation required that I tag other people, but I am going to pretend that I didn’t read that part.

1)  I am a huge fan of The Big Bang Theory.  I have all the seasons (granted only four are out right now) and several t-shirts.  It’s funny and nerdtacular!  If you feel the need to hate on TBBT, then you can:

2)  I enjoy writing, but I only have the mental capacity to write short stories.  Any time I try to write anything longer, I get begin to thing my story was a stupid idea and I give up on it.  Chapter stories take so much dedication!  >.<

3)  There is this amazing candy called Cadbury Mini-Eggs and I am obsessed with them.  I did not realize I loved chocolate so much until I started eating them.  Ate a couple and I was addicted - hook, line, and sinker.

4)  I have three ‘pets’ in my dorm room.  I have a baby beta named Perseus, a goldfish named Amphitrite (this name made a lot more since when my other goldfish, Poseidon, was still alive), and a hibiscus named Lenny (I know he’s a plant, but he’s living and he deserved a name!).

5)  I own two of the awesomest (intentional bad grammar -deal with it!) pairs of socks.  They may not be argyle, but one has a crap ton of penguins (who doesn’t love penguins?):

And the other has Santa Claus going down a chimney!!!  =D

My socks are the very definition of awesome.

6)  I finished reading Looking for Alaskaa couple hours ago and it was awesome (obviously, because it was written by John Green, who is made of awesome).  I felt like a horrible person for laughing at this quote, though: “…And then I saw the Colonel his knees tucked to his chest, lying on his side on the bleachers…” (p. 140 - paperback version).  This needs some explanation; so that quote is from a scene where an important character was announced dead and here I am laughing at another character’s grief-stricken reaction - I am either a horrible person or I have a morbid sense of humor (the quote gave me this weird mental picture, which is why I laughed).  Or both.

7)  If you couldn’t already tell from my Tuesday video, I am a big fan of John Green and, although I didn’t mention him, Hank Green.  Vlogbrothers makes my life and I am proud Nerdfighter!  DFTBA!

8)  I really, really, really enjoy pistachios.  Someone was having a good day when they conceived the notion of roasting pistachios and eating them a delicious snack.

9) Because I am rather weird, I am fascinated by serial killers except not in a oooh-sounds-like-a-potential-hobby kind of way.  It’s just interesting to me to see in what ways the human mind can go completely wrong.  In fact, I find mental pathology to be interesting in general (this is probably why one of my majors is in psychology…)

10)  I am a part of the Honor’s College at my university and we are required to fulfill CAC hours (or community service - CAC stands for something but I am too lazy to look it up at the moment).  Since I am not much of a people person, I often volunteer at the Humane Society.  So to wrap up this post, here are some pictures of the adorable animals I get to work with:

Actually, volunteers and visitors are asked not to touch the puppies so they don’t get sick.  And it is so hard to resist!  I just want to hug ALL the animals!  I usually socialize the cats (because although I am an animal person in general, I am more specifically a cat person).  I have to wear gloves when I play with them, which kind of ruins petting, but the health of the kitty-cats is also important.  In fact, it’s just nice to be around animals, despite the gloves.  <3

Well, that’s all I have.  Ah, it feels nice to write a post again!  Why is college so time consuming?  >.<

Metaphorical Fish
I once said I had the social skills of a fish and my friend pointed out that I could be a metaphorical fish. So now it will be my URL/blog title forever. I'm an English major with absolutely no life plans. I take a lot of pictures of my pets when I'm home. On my blog, you will find puns, animals, a smidgen of hockey, fandom stuffs, and whatever else catches my interest.
